Official MHS LogoThe 2014-15 school year and athletic season will be starting very quickly.  We are looking forward to having a great year.  This article is the first “MHS Sports Report.”  We plan on posting a new article each Monday that will recap the week before and highlight the week ahead.  Please look for this each Monday.

There have been a few changes from the Athletic Department.  The first big change that you may notice is that we have a new website.  We have partnered with Varsity News Network (VNN) to create this new site.  There are many benefits to the new site.  First, the schedules that are listed are connected to our scheduling software.  When a change is made in our program, the website will make that change at 1am every morning.  Results from our varsity sports will be posted after each event and will be displayed on the main page.  By the end of the week, there will be an “Alerts” feature added to the site that will allow you to sign up to receive text or email alerts when last minute changes are made.  Currently, the site is up and functioning but we are working with VNN to correct some of the small glitches that come with rolling out a new site.  You may still see some small changes over the next couple of weeks as we continue to improve the site.

The second big change is that we have moved to using online forms for our Athletic Participation Paperwork.  Now we will be using a system called RankOneSport.  The website allows students and parents to read and sign off on the paperwork electronically.  This will have to be completed before students are able to practice on the first official practice.  For Fall Athletes and Parents, it s very important that you have this completed before Monday.  If you have a computer or internet problem, the school will be open on Wednesday from 9-2:30pm and Thursday from 2-7:30pm for Back to School Registration.  We will have computers set up at that time to accommodate parents and athletes with the online forms.  If you have any questions, please contact the office at:  317-831-9207.

Last spring we rolled out a new ticketing program called TickeTracker.  This system allowed parents and fans to purchase tickets online for events and allowed us to better monitor who was attending the contests.  As we improved our use of the system, we were able to expand what we are able to offer online.  Therefore starting this year, we will be selling Season Passes along with single game tickets.  The Season Passes will only be available for purchase online or in the athletic office.  If the pass is purchased online, you will be able to use a debit or credit card for the transaction.  If you come into the athletic office, you will be able to pay with cash or credit/debit card.  With the ability to purchase these passes online, we will no longer be selling them at each individual event.  We are offering the same passes that we offered last year and we have included a new Family Pass to the list.  Please check out the full list on the site.

Lastly, we will be hosting a Fall Parent Meeting on Thursday, August 7th at 6:30pm in the High School Auditorium.  We will be covering a number of topics that are important for the upcoming season.  Following the presentation by the Athletic Department, there will be breakout locations for each sport to cover additional topics specifically related to their sport.  We hope that you will be able to join us that evening.
