Multiple Teams · MHS Sports Report – 9/8/14

We are just finishing another great week of athletics at MHS!

Our Girls Soccer Team is now 3-0 in the Mid-State Conference with 7-0 win over Greenwood this past Wednesday.  Our Boys Soccer Team also moved to 2-0 in the conference with a 6-0 win over Greenwood.  The Varsity Football Team also opened up Mid-State Conference action with a 20-6 win over Plainfield.  Their record is now 2-1 on the year and 1-0 in the conference.

The Pioneers have another busy week with a majority of the contests being on the road.  The Girls Soccer Team has a tough match against Avon, defending state champs, on Monday night at Avon.  The JV game starts at 5:30pm with the Varsity to follow.  They also play at Martinsville on Wednesday as they look to move to 4-0 in the conference.  The Boys Soccer team will play the remainder of their match vs Perry Meridian on Tuesday night.  This will be varsity only and will start with 8 minutes to go in the first half.  They will also play at Martinsville on Thursday night as they look to stay undefeated in the conference too.  The Volleyball Team will also play at Martinsville on Tuesday with the JV game starting at 5:30pm.  The team will also be hosting an Invitational next weekend starting at 9am.  The Girls Golf Team will be playing in the Mid-State Conference Tournament at Hill View GC next Saturday.  It will be a shotgun start at 1:30pm.  The Cross Country Teams will be in action at the Jon Mitchell Invitational at Cascade starting at 10am. The Boys Tennis Team will have 2 varsity events at home this week on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon vs Warren Central (4:30pm) and Ben Davis (5:00pm) respectively.

The Varsity Football Team will have their home opener this coming Friday night vs Greenwood.  Along with the game, we will also be recognizing the Junior Football League Teams and Cheerleaders.  The Teams will be recognized before the start of the game and the Cheerleaders will perform at halftime.  Also that evening, the Marian University Band will be performing at halftime.  We have some great events taking place next Friday at the game.

One reminder, we will be scanning tickets at the Football game on Friday night.  That process takes a little longer and may cause some spectators to enter later than previous years.  Please make sure that you do not wait until the last minute to enter the stadium.  We do not want you to miss the start of the game.

Go Pioneers! #BeEpic!
