MHS to Host Coaches vs Cancer Basketball Games

The MHS Athletic Department and Student Council will be teaming up to host two Coaches vs Cancer games this winter season.  The Coaches vs. Cancer program is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). It leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of coaches nationwide to promote cancer awareness and raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

This year the Boys’ Coaches vs Cancer game will be on Saturday, 12/13 vs Speedway and the Girls’ game will be on 1/13 vs Warren Central.  For the upcoming Boys’ game, we will be having a purple theme that evening.  The night of the game, we will be selling purple bracelets and collecting money at halftime for the American Cancer Society (ACS).  We encourage all fans to wear purple that night.

Also this week, we are taking pre-orders on purple shirts that we are selling to the faculty and students.  The cost is $10 for the shirt and the proceeds will go to the ACS.  If you are interested in ordering a shirt, please stop by the Athletic Office by Friday (12/5) at noon.  We ask that you pay for the shirt before it is ordered.  Once they arrive the following week, we will get them distributed.  Below is a sample of what the shirts will look like.

We hope that everyone will come out and support the Pioneers and our efforts help find a Cure!
