Mooresville Pioneer Cornerback David Masayile Named IFCA All-State
High School Football is the ultimate team sport made up of selfless young men that dedicate themselves to countless hours of hard work hoping that one day playing under Friday night lights will lead to an opportunity to play on Saturday afternoons. One just Pioneer that continues to work hard to make the dream of playing on Saturdays a reality is Senior David Masayile (Class of 2015). David, who will graduate this spring was recently named to the 2014 4A All State football team an honor that David also received his Junior year in 2013.
David, a Senior Cornerback and team Captain lead the Pioneers defense in takeaways with 2 fumble recoveries, 3 interceptions, and was able to breakup 8 pass attempts. David was third in tackles with 61, of those 61 tackles, 47 being solo. “David was always prepared for his opponent”, stated Defensive Coordinator Joe White, “He would know exactly what was coming for any situation.” David ensured he was prepared for his opponent each and every week, watching hours of game tape allowing him to get himself as well as his teammates in the right spots to make crucial stops in crucial situations.
“He is a terrific kid with a consistent work ethic” states Head Coach Chad Dockery, a consistent work ethic that any college football coach would be lucky to have on a football field in the fall of 2015.
