Athlete of the Week – Girls Golf – Olivia Roberts, Senior

Olivia has been a 4 year Varsity starter for the girls golf team. Olivia was named the team MVP her sophomore and junior seasons and Olivia has been recognized as a 3 time Mid-State All Conference golfer. This year, Olivia is 2nd on the team in scoring average and has helped the team maintain Top 20 team state ranking recognition for the whole season. This past weekend, Olivia participated in the IHSAA Regional competition for the second year in a row. Despite the slow play and unseasonably warm, Olivia still managed to finish with a tournament score of placing her in the Top 10 for the advancing individuals.   “Olivia has been a tough competitor all her years on the golf team. She is one of the best golfers that we’ve ever had in the program. Olivia has helped the golf team reach new levels of recognition with her work ethic and competitive spirit.” commented Coach Franklin.

Athlete of the Week – Boys Cross Country – Max Comer, Senior

Max has worked very hard this season, and has improved his time by nearly 1.5 minutes to date this season.  Max is committed to getting the best out of himself and often attends morning pool practices that are optional attendance.  I can count on Max to bring 100% effort and it shows, not only in cross country, but he is also a leader in multiple school clubs and is one of the top ranked students in his senior class.
