The Mooresville High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce the Edward Jones Athlete of the Week Award for the week of 2017. The award this week October 2nd – October 7th
will be given to one female and one male student-athletes who displayed athletic excellence in all areas of competition during the previous week of athletic contests. Edward Jones is a proud to recognize student athletes for their athletic achievements each week while supporting the Mooresville Athletic Department. The Mooresville Athletic Department is honored to partner with BJ Pendill from Edward Jones to recognize the Mooresville High School student athlete of the week.
Athlete of the Week – Girls Cheerleading – Emma Woodall, Senior
Emma is a senior and three year Varsity letter winner for the Mooresville High School competition cheer team. She is a back spot for this year’s competition cheer team where she continually plays an integral role with her stunt group. This past weekend, at the Central Indiana Cheer Championship hosted by Pendleton Heights High School, Emma and her stunt group hit each of their stunts seamlessly and helped secure the team with a third place finish. Emma constantly exudes a positive attitude with her teammates and coaches, is a determined hard worker, and has impeccable sportsmanship and work ethic.
Athlete of the Week – Boys Football – Ryan Spangler, Senior
Ryan lead us last week with 14 tackles and 1 tackle for loss. Ryan has been our leading tackler every week from the Middle Linebacker position totaling 117 tackles for the year. That leads the conference. Ryan’s 117 also leads all 4A players in the state in tackles. That is second in the state in all divisions.
