Edward Jones Athlete of the Week

Dec. 18th – Dec. 23th


The Mooresville High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce the Edward Jones Athlete of the Week Award for the week of 2017.  The award this week December 18th – December 23th 

will be given to one female and one male student-athletes who displayed athletic excellence in all areas of competition during the previous week of athletic contests. Edward Jones is a proud to recognize student athletes for their athletic achievements each week while supporting the Mooresville Athletic Department.  The Mooresville Athletic Department is honored to partner with BJ Pendill from Edward Jones to recognize the Mooresville High School student athlete of the week. 



Athlete of the Week – Girls Swimming – Arabella Short, Junior


Arabella Short is our female Athlete of the Week.  Arabella swims the 100 breaststroke. Arabella regularly trains fifteen hours a week. She serves as captain, and has dropped seven seconds in the 100 breast stroke since the beginning of the year. She placed seventh overall at conference, and at the Mooresville swimming and diving invitational she placed fifth. Arabella also swims on the 200 Medley Relay and the  400 Freestyle Relay.


Athlete of the Week – Boys Basketball – Brayton Strohmeyer, Senior


In the championship game of the Rushville Lions Classic, Brayton recorded a double-double with 17 pts. and 15 rebounds.  He also recorded team-highs of 5 assists and 3 steals.  Brayton was named, along with Jon Eineman, to the All-Tourney Team.  Brayton’s daily effort continues to pay off with his great play this year.
