Edward Jones Athlete of the Week

The Mooresville High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce the Edward Jones Athlete of the Week Award for the week of 2017. The award this week January 22nd – January 27th
will be given to one female and one male student-athletes who displayed athletic excellence in all areas of competition during the previous week of athletic contests. Edward Jones is a proud to recognize student athletes for their athletic achievements each week while supporting the Mooresville Athletic Department. The Mooresville Athletic Department is honored to partner with BJ Pendill from Edward Jones to recognize the Mooresville High School student athlete of the week.
Athlete of the Week – Girls Swimming – Cami Henry, Senior
Placing first in multiple meets in the 50 freestyle, Senior Cami Henry is a high point earner for the Mooresville Swim Team. Outside of the pool she is leader who encourages others in their performance. She is also on the A relay for the 200 free and 400 free relays, and she does all this while balancing school, choir, National Honors Society, and Softball.
Athlete of the Week – Wrestling – Jalen Comer, Senior (Not Pictured)
Jalen Comer won three matches at sectional on his way to becoming an IHSAA sectional champion. In his final match he defeated an opponent with undefeated record whom he had lost to twice during the regular season. Jalen is now ranked 9th in the state. His continued improvement is testament to his work during practice sessions and his coachable attitude. He also continues to be a vocal leader for the Pioneers providing encouraging words to his teammates during the course of the sectional tournament.
