Athlete of the Week – Girls Tennis – Tori Belton, Senior
Tori was 2-1 last week with wins at #2 doubles vs. Avon and #2 singles vs. Danville. Tori has played a variety of different varsity positions for us this year and has done very well. Overall, she is 11-7 on the season. Tori has had a really good tennis career here at Mooresville.
Athlete of the Week – Track – Julia LeBlanc, Senior
Julia has improved her level of competition throughout the season. This past week at the Mid-State Conference meet she was our leading point scorer, earning 16.5 points for her team. She earned 6 points each for her third place finishes in the 100m and 200m dash, 2 points for finishing 2nd in the 4×100 relay, and 2.5 points for anchoring the 4×400 relay team and winning the event. This week, Julia was Morgan County Champion in the 100m, 200m, and 4×100 relay, and runner up in the 4×400 relay team. Julia’s work ethic has improved and she is focused for Sectionals this week.
Athlete of the Week – Softball – Rylee Harrison, Freshman
In 3 games last week, Rylee played extremely well. She has been the #2 hitter in the lineup all year and the starting shortstop for the majority of the year. In 3 games last week against Whiteland and #1 Center Grove, Rylee went 3 for 5, 0 for 2, and 2 for 3 (against Center Grove’s #1 pitcher). She was 5 for 10 (.500 BA) overall. She also played flawless in the field. Rylee has improved each and every week and is one of the most coachable players on the team. Her attitude is infectious and we wouldn’t be where we are this season if it weren’t for her growth on the field. She is very deserving of this award.
