For the second time in as many weeks, the Mooresville Pioneers (1-0) will take to the road and travel to Danville to take on the Warriors (0-1) in week 2 of the 2018 Indiana High School Football season. The Pioneers are coming off a week one win over the Lebanon Tigers which saw Mooresville grab an early 19-0 lead in the first quarter, and pull away in the second half, winning 46-7.
Just like Mooresville, Danville opened the season on the road, traveling to Cascade to take on the Cadets. The Warriors grabbed an early 14-6 lead in the first quarter but could not hang on, loosing to the Cadets, 28-21. Friday nights ballgame will mark the fourth time in as many seasons that Mooresville and Danville have met in week 2 of the regular season dating back to 2015.
Mooresville will be looking to avenge their 2017 loss to the Warriors at Lucas Oil Stadium where the Pioneers were defeated 59-17. The Mooresville Pioneers continue to get better each and every day on both sides of the football and look forward to the challenge that presents itself Friday night.
The Warriors are coming off a tough week one loss to Cascade and will be looking to get back on the left side of the win/loss column and even up their record at 1-1. With the week one win over Lebanon, the Pioneers are off to a 1-0 start and are looking for win number two this Friday and a 2-0 start, an accomplishment the Pioneers last made during the 2015 season. Friday nights game looks to be very competitive against two very good Indiana High School Football teams, we look forward to seeing all of you at Danville for the 7pm kickoff.
Thank you to all parents, families, students, friends, and fans as well as the Town of Mooresville for all your support, let’s pack the stands in Danville this Friday night, August 24th!
