Friday September 21st the 4-1 Mooresville Pioneers will play host to the 2-3 Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs in the 2018 edition of Homecoming. The Pioneers are coming off a 38-28 loss to Mid State rival, Decatur Central last Friday and are hoping to right the ship this Friday against the Grizzly Cubs. Franklin Community have wins over Shelbyville and Perry Meridian with losses to Columbus North, Whiteland, and most recently, Martinsville 30-7.
The Pioneers who are currently 2-1 in Mid State Conference and face another tough Mid State Conference opponent this Friday in Franklin Community who defeated Mooresville in 2017, 52-14. Mooresville enters Fridays Homecoming ballgame averaging just shy of 400 total yards per game with 399.8 per contest. The ground game averages 183.8 yards per game with the passing game coming in at 216 yards per ballgame. The Mooresville defense continues to put the work in averaging 72 tackle per game.
Franklin Community likes to put the ball in the air offensively averaging 212.8 yards per contest, coupled by 128.2 on the ground for a total average yardage output of 341. The Grizzly Cub defense puts in the work as well, averaging 76 tackles per ballgame. Fridays nights 2018 Homecoming ballgame featuring Mid State Conference opponents Mooresville and Franklin Community is scheduled to kickoff at 7pm.
