Edward Jones Athlete of the Week
May 6th – May 11th
The Mooresville High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce the Edward Jones Athlete of the Week Award for the week of May 6th – May 11th of 2019. The award will be given to one female and one male student-athletes who displayed athletic excellence in all areas of competition during the previous week of athletic contests. Edward Jones is a proud to recognize student athletes for their athletic achievements each week while supporting the Mooresville Athletic Department. The Mooresville Athletic Department is honored to partner with BJ Pendill from Edward Jones to recognize the Mooresville High School student athlete of the week.
Athlete of the Week – Girls Track – Emily Bombei, Junior
Junior, Emily Bombei has entered the #12 spot on the all-time record board in the 200m dash this season, beating her previous personal best in the event by over a second. She also anchored the 4×100 meter relay team that won the Conference Meet with the second fastest time in our school’s history. To top it all off, she ran the fastest split on the Mid-State Conference Championship 4x400m relay, a relay that now is now 6th on our all-time record board.
Athlete of the Week – Baseball – Connor, Senior
Connor Hurt: .365 1 HR, 2 3Bs, 4 2Bs 6 RBIs 4 runs scored. .435 OBP .556 SLG. Connor was also 1-0 on the mound with a 2.15 ERA. Connor had a hot streak at the plate last week helping us to victories against Plainfield, Eastern Hancock and Brebeuf. He has been a great leader and played remarkable defense all season at 1st base.
