Edward Jones Athlete of the Week

December 9nd – December  14th          


The Mooresville High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce the Edward Jones Athlete of the Week Award for the week of December 9nd  – December 14th of 2019.  The award will be given to one female and one male student-athletes who displayed athletic excellence in all areas of competition during the previous week of athletic contests. Edward Jones is a proud to recognize student athletes for their athletic achievements each week while supporting the Mooresville Athletic Department.  The Mooresville Athletic Department is honored to partner with BJ Pendill from Edward Jones to recognize the Mooresville High School student athlete of the week. 



Athlete of the Week – Girls Basketball – Maddie Denny, Sophomore


Maddie scored 19 points in the Mooresville Lady Pioneers 62-48 victory over Greenwood.  Denny hit 2 two point field goals, 2 three pointers and was a perfect 9 for 9 from the free throw line.  Maddie is a leader on and off the court and continues to work hard at improving her game.


Athlete of the Week – Wrestling – Jake Aleksa, Senior


Jake finished 2nd at the Zionsville tournament.  He had a big win over at tough opponent from Franklin Central in the semifinals and then battled the 9th ranked Drake Buchanan from Center Grove to a close loss in the finals.  Jake also pinned his opponent from Franklin Community on Tuesday.  His record is now 12-1 on the season.


Jake continues to be one of our hardest workers in the room and has volunteered with our elementary team several times over the past few weeks coaching and refereeing.
