Athlete of the Week – Girls Varsity Swimming – Cora Winegarden, Sophomore
Cora consistently dominates any event she swims. In the very first meet of the season, she swam the anchor leg of the 200 Medley Relay ensuring the relay team broke the school record. During the Mooresville Invitational, Cora broke the school record in the 100 Freestyle. The same record she broke on the very same day last year! Cora owns the 50 Freestyle event and is the key anchor swimmer for both the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Free Relay. Her great attitude and strong work ethic is contagious and brings the entire team up to that next level of competition.
Athlete of the Week – Boys Varsity Swimming – Trey Addair, Junior
Trey is one of the most versatile and powerful swimmers on the team. He can compete in any event and come out on top. At the Mooresville Invitational, Trey not only finished first in the 100 Fly defeating swimmers from eight other teams but broke the school record he had set previously. He is a key member of any relay in which he competes and can always be counted on to reach deep and do what needs to be done to win.
