Edward Jones Athlete of the Week

January 6th  – January 11th          


The Mooresville High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce the Edward Jones Athlete of the Week Award for the week of January 6th  – January 11th of 2020.  The award will be given to one female and one male student-athletes who displayed athletic excellence in all areas of competition during the previous week of athletic contests. Edward Jones is a proud to recognize student athletes for their athletic achievements each week while supporting the Mooresville Athletic Department.  The Mooresville Athletic Department is honored to partner with BJ Pendill from Edward Jones to recognize the Mooresville High School student athlete of the week. 



Athlete of the Week – Girls Varsity Basketball – Addi Shafer, Junior


Addi scored 8 points in Mooresville’s 44-38 loss to ninth ranked Mt. Vernon.  She also scored 15 points on 7/10 shooting as the Lady Pioneers defeated Franklin 71-54.  Addi continues to work hard to improve and become a consistent player for the Lady Pioneers.



Athlete of the Week – Boys Varsity Basketball – Luke Fowler, Junior


Luke scored 12 pts. On 5-7 shooting Saturday night in our game vs Franklin Community.  Luke also had a team high 7 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots.  Luke continues to be a solid player who we can count on every night.  Our team is now 8-4 and Luke’s contributions are a key factor to our success.


Athlete of the Week – Boys Varsity Wrestling – Reese Condon, Senior


Reese has been a consistent worker in the room all season.  He pushes his teammates in practice and spends extra time working with coaches to improve his skills and conditioning.  This past weekend Reese led the way for the team and its 4-1 finish at the Tiger Duals going 5-0 on the day winning all his matches by decision, two of those by major decision earning bonus team points.  Reese is putting together a nice senior season and currently has a record of 22 wins and 6 losses.
