Edward Jones Athlete of the Week

February 24th – February 29th        

 

The Mooresville High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce the Edward Jones Athlete of the Week Award for the week of February 24th – February 29th of 2020.  The award will be given to one female and one male student-athletes who displayed athletic excellence in all areas of competition during the previous week of athletic contests. Edward Jones is a proud to recognize student athletes for their athletic achievements each week while supporting the Mooresville Athletic Department.  The Mooresville Athletic Department is honored to partner with BJ Pendill from Edward Jones to recognize the Mooresville High School student athlete of the week. 

 

 

Athlete of the Week – Boys Varsity Wrestling – Robbie Gentry, Senior

 

Robbie Gentry finished up his season and his career with a 6th place finish at the IHSAA state finals.  He won his Friday night match with score of 1-0 , on Saturday morning he lost 0-3 in his quarter final, but bounced back with a 7-3 win in his consolation round before finishing 6th in the placement round.  Robbie finished his two year varsity career with a 66-15 overall record, he led the team in falls and points this season, was a two time sectional champion, a Mid-State Conference champion, Jeffersonville Holiday Classic Champion, two time ISWA state champion in Folkstyle and a two time member is Indiana’s Freestyle and Greco Roman national team.  Besides his success on the mat, Robbie was a great ambassador for Mooresville high school winning the admiration of several fans during his state tournament run with his enthusiasm and friendly nature.

 

 

Athlete of the Week – Boys Varsity Basketball – Zach Woodson, Sophomore

 

Zach Woodson is a sophomore on the boys basketball team.  In the win this past week over Tri West Zach scored 14 pts. on 5 of 9 shooting from the field.  Zach was 4 of 8 from behind the arc. Zach also pulled down 4 rebounds.
