Athlete of the Week – Girls Softball – Kendall Grover, Junior
Kendall has been on a tear at the plate the past couple of weeks. Last week alone, Kendall hit 3 home runs. She started the season slow but has gained steam over the past 3 weeks. She is hitting .500 for the season. She leads the team in RBIs with 23. She has 5 homeruns, 6 doubles, and 1 triple for the season. She has been so reliable for the majority of the season and we wouldn’t be where we are offensively without her. On Friday night in our 5-1 win over Terre Haute North, Kendall went 3 for 4 with two 2-run homeruns and had all 5 RBIs. She was our offense for the game and she is very deserving of this award!
Athlete of the Week – Girls Tennis – Maely Barrett, Senior
Maely is 8-4 overall. 7-4 at #1 doubles, 0-1 at #1 singles this year with wins over Decatur Central, Ben Davis, Danville, Whiteland, Plainfield and North Montgomery. Maely and her doubles partner, Kirsten Dove at 4-1 in the conference at #1 doubles. She has been playing a very high level and is showing great leadership on the court. Our team relies on her leadership and enthusiasm. She is one of our captains.
