Coach Corey Ervin is entering his fourth year as head diving coach at Mooresville High School. Coach Corey graduated from Bremen High School in 1996 where he was the most valuable diver four years consecutive, 2 time state finalist, and current school record holder. Coach Corey continued his diving career at Ball State University under the tutelage of Coach John Wingfield (2008 USA Olympic Coach and USA Diving Coach of the year). At BSU Corey received such honors as, 2-time most valuable diver of the year, 2-time All Conference (MAC) diver of the year, Outstanding Academic Award winner, and Senior National Qualifier status. After college in 2000, Coach Corey continued his training and started his coaching career with the Indianapolis Regional Training Center, alongside Coach Wingfield, in route to qualify for the Olympic Trials. Coach Corey worked on the National team with such athletes at Thomas Finchum (2008 Olympics-Silver) and David Boudia (2008 Olympics-Silver, 2012-Gold & bronze, 2016-Silver & Bronze). Coaching career continued through the Indianapolis Starz Diving program and Whiteland high school and middle school programs where he coached from 2002-2013. Coach Corey produced multiple Junior National qualifiers, school record holders, and over 45 state finalists, including state runner up (2007) and state Champion (2009). In 2014 Coach Corey served Goshen High School coaching 4 athletes to Regional finals and breaking new school records. Coach Corey has now been the head coach at Mooresville High School and Middle School since 2014. Mooresville has had all new high school dive records as well as middle school records broken; has produced a 2-time Sectional Champion, multiple regional qualifiers, and a state finalists. In the 2016-17 season the program had the first Mooresville diver to ever place at the state finals. Coach Corey has high hopes for continuing his coaching regime here at Mooresville and a program that will continue to grow into the future.
