The Mooresville Boys tennis team traveled to Edgewood High School today and won the Edgewood Invitational with a 5-0 win over Owen Valley in the championship. Winning in the championship were Peyton Wilson at #1 singles, Joel Hammon at #2 singles, Sawyer Flinn at #3 singles, Logan Prather and Caden Bradley at #1 singles and Jake Murphy and Darrin Cummins at #2 doubles. In the first round, Mooresville defeated Bedford North Lawrence by a score of 4-1. Winning for Mooresville were Peyton Wilson at #1 singles, Sawyer Flinn at #3 singles, Logan Prather and Caden Bradley at #1 doubles and Jake Murphy and Darrin Cummins at #2 doubles. The Pioneers JV team also won three matches on the day. They defeated BNL by a score of 2-0, Edgewood by a score of 3-0 and Owen Valley by a score of 1-0. Winning for the JV were Lennon Zollman, Craig Teike, Dylan Moseley, Bailey Kelso, Trae Creech, Austin Britt and Judah Hennessey. The varsity improved their overall record to 10-7 while the JV improved to 13-3. The varsity is next in action on Monday when they travel to Perry Meridian for the Mid-State Conference tournament. The first round will begin at 3 pm.
