The Mooresville Lady Pioneers played host to the Hamilton Southeastern Lady Royals for their sixteenth game of the 2020-2021 season. The Lady Pioneers and Lady Royals were expected to play Franklin Central this week but the Flashes had to cancel both games this week. The Lady Pioneers came into the game with a 9-6 record while the Lady Royals traveled to Mooresville with a #7 4A ranking and a 9-2 record. This is the first meeting between the two schools.
The Lady Pioneers and Lady Royals both struggled to get off to a strong start and exchanged turnovers and missed shots for most of the first quarter. Both teams only made three baskets in the first quarter and the Royals led 9-7 over Mooresville. The pace of the game quickened during the second and third quarters with the Lady Pioneers scoring 29 points and the Lady Royals scoring 23 points during those two quarters.
