The Mooresville boys traveled to their first indoor meet at UIndy on Friday night, an HSR qualifier hosted by Lawrence Central. No team scores were kept, but here are some of the notable performances:
Newcomer Jordan Smith — only a freshman — cleared 5-10 en route to finishing 3rd; he is currently in the top 25 after a week of indoor competition.
Junior Brayden Evans finished 4th in a field of 36 in the 60m dash in a personal best time of 7.19 FAT; his previous best was 7.38 FAT a year ago.
Seniors Peyton Payne and Jared Young cleared 10-6 in the pole vault, finishing 5th and 7th respectively. A year ago, they did not clear a single height at their first indoor meet.
Junior Jack Bosworth led off the 4×400 with a 56.5 split — 5 seconds faster than he ran indoors a year ago and faster than any 400 split from the indoor season from last year.
Kyler Evans, a junior, jumped 18-09 in his first attempt in the long jump and first meet ever.
