The Mooresville girls traveled to their first indoor meet at UIndy on Friday night, an HSR qualifier hosted by Lawrence Central. No teams scores were recorded, but here are some of the notable performances:
Senior Arabella Short cleared 8-0 in the pole vault, finishing in 5th place.
Freshman speedster Madelynn Denny finished 4th in the 60m dash in 8.12 FAT; she ran 8.09 FAT in the trials. This is the fastest time recorded in the 60m dash for the girls.
Senior Alex Sanders finished 3rd in the shot put; Junior Faith Scaggs threw a personal best and finished 18th overall.
The girls 4x400m relay of Elly Head, Alysha Bradford, Madelynn Denny, and Emily Bombei won their heat running all alone in 4:28.11. This time currently puts them in the top 25.
Junior Emily Bombei ran a personal best of 8.44 FAT in the 60m dash; her previous best was 8.72 FAT from a year ago.
The girls 4x200m dash ran the fastest indoor time we have on record: 1:53.53 FAT. They will have to go 2 seconds faster to have a shot to make it to Indoor State, but they have the potential to do it. The team was Madelynn Denny, Alysha Bradford, Emily Bombei, and Alexis Ervin.
Sophomore Sydney Gercak entered the all-time top 20 list, finishing the 3200m run in the 16th fastest time in Mooresville’s history.
