JV Girls Basketball - v. Danville 11/18/25

The Mooresville Girls JV Basketball hosted Danville on Tuesday night for the first time in over 30 years. The Lady Warriors are members of the Sagamore Conference and classified as a 3A team for the IHSAA tournament. Danville has won back to back Sectional 25 championships. After another sluggish first quarter start where the Lady Pioneers JV gave up 17 points, the team changed their defensive effort in the second quarter and pulled back even with the Lady Warriors at 18-18 with 1:35 left in the first half. The Lady Warriors scored the last 3 points to take a 18-21 lead at the half. The Lady Pioneers came out strong at the start of the third quarter and took a 5 point lead at 33-28 with about 1:30 remaining in the third quarter when the Lady Warriors took a timeout to regroup. The Lady Warriors then came right back down the floor and rattled off 7 straight points to retake the quarter lead at the end of the third quarter 33-35. The outcome of the game was determined in the first 1:30 of the fourth quarter when Danville jumped out to a 6 point lead before the Lady Pioneers scored their first points of the fourth quarter. The Lady Pioneers would pull back with two points twice but never pull even with the Lady Warriors and the game ended 39-43 in favor of Danville. The 39-43 defeat for the Lady Pioneers drops the team’s record to 2-3 on the season. Leading the JV team in scoring was Ester Brimmage and Kenzie Garrett with 10 points each. The Lady Warriors will have a couple of days off and then play back to back games against Tri-West, November 21st, and Hamilton Heights, November 22nd. The next game for the Lady Pioneers JV team will include another trip to Columbus on Friday night and this time they will play the Lady Olympians from Columbus East. The Junior Varsity game will start at 6:00 p.m. and the Varsity game will start around 7:30 p.m. Friday night’s game at Columbus East will include a celebration for Breast Cancer Survivors.
