Athletic Director
Matt Bosworth
317 831 9207Matthew Bosworth was named Athletic Director at Mooresville High School in April 2025, bringing more than two decades of educational and athletic leadership to the role. With a strong commitment to student development both on and off the field, Mr. Bosworth is dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and teamwork within the Pioneer athletic community. Mr. Bosworth has served Mooresville High School since 2000 in a variety of impactful roles, including more than a decade as Assistant Athletic Director and over 25 years as a Social Studies teacher. His teaching experience includes Economics, World History, and Government, and he previously served as Social Studies Department Chair. His dedication to education extends beyond the classroom through long-standing leadership of the Social Studies Academic Team and 25 years of summer school instruction. In athletics, Mr. Bosworth has demonstrated a strong track record of organization, professionalism, and program development. As Assistant Athletic Director, he helped manage athletic events, supervise teams, and promote sportsmanship. His coaching background includes 10 years as an assistant football coach and two seasons as Girls JV Basketball coach, shaping a leadership style centered on mentorship, effort, and accountability. As Athletic Director, Mr. Bosworth’s vision focuses on developing well-rounded student-athletes, enhancing facilities and equipment, supporting coaches, increasing participation, and strengthening community engagement. A graduate of Connecticut College, he holds a Master’s in Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. He and his wife, Jennifer, are proud parents of Jack, Avery, and Natalie. -
Assistant Athletic Director
Jacob Wallman
317 831 9207Jacob Wallman is entering his first year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Mooresville Athletics, returning home to serve the program that helped shape him. A 2018 graduate of Mooresville High School, Jacob went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Indianapolis, where he built a strong foundation in athletic administration, event management, and organizational leadership. Known for his energy, approachability, and commitment to the Pioneer community, Jacob brings a fresh perspective and a relentless work ethic to his role. In addition to his responsibilities at Mooresville, he serves as the Technology Director for the Indiana Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (IIAAA) and is a member of the IIAAA Strategic Plan Committee, helping guide communication, innovation, and long-term planning efforts across the state. Jacob also presented at the 2024 National Athletic Directors Conference, sharing best practices in athletic fundraising and technology. He has contributed to major sporting events through his involvement with the Indianapolis Final Four Local Organizing Committee. Prior to his administrative role, Jacob served as a coach for Mooresville Football from 2018–2022, working specifically with special teams and kickers while maintaining a strong connection to student-athlete development. When he’s not making things happen for Mooresville Athletics, you can find Jacob holding court at Applebee’s or dominating the euchre table with friends. He lives in Mooresville with his wife, Rayanne, and their dog, Colbie. -
Athletic Administrative Assistant
Marsha Green
317 831 9207With 21 years of experience as an Athletic Administrative Assistant, Marsha Green has dedicated her career to supporting athletic programs and fostering a positive environment for students and staff alike. A proud graduate of Hartsville High School in South Carolina, Marsha’s passion for sports and education runs deep. Marsha shares her life with her husband, Dean Green, and together they’ve raised two children: son John, a proud member of the Class of 2010, and daughter Brett, who graduated in 2013. The Greens are also blessed with four grandchildren: Talia, Judah, Addison, and Brooks, each bringing joy and excitement to their lives. When she’s not assisting with athletic programs, Marsha enjoys cheering for Clemson football, cooking, reading, and completing puzzles. -

Boys Basketball Head Coach
Gavin Groninger
Gavin Groninger enters his second season as the boys’ basketball coach for the Mooresville Pioneers. In his first year, he led the program to a Sectional Championship—the school’s first in 27 years. Prior to joining Mooresville, Coach Groninger served as the varsity assistant boys’ basketball coach at Plainfield High School beginning in 2013. Coach Groninger earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and Communications from the University of Michigan, where he also played four years of basketball for the Wolverines. Additionally, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health from IUPUI. Gavin is an alumnus of Plainfield High School, where he was a key player on the 1999 Boys 3A State Championship team. His outstanding performance earned him recognition as a 1999 Indiana All-Star, 1999 First Team All-State, and a spot on the 2024 Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Silver Anniversary Team. Beyond the court, Coach Groninger also serves as Mooresville High School’s Career Coach. He balances his coaching responsibilities with family life, sharing it with his wife, Megan, and their four children: Charlee, 16; Henry, 13; Indee, 8; and Millee, 4. -
Girls Basketball Head Coach
Mark Hurt
Mark Hurt begins his 28th season coaching girls basketball at Mooresville. During that span, the girl’s have earned 8 Mid-state conference championships, 11 sectional titles and 3 regional crowns. Coach Hurt was honored to coach the 2013 Indiana All-Star basketball team. He has coached and assisted the Jr. All-Star team as well. Coach Hurt is a graduate of Indiana University and earned his Masters from Indiana Wesleyan University. He teaches in the Social Studies department. Coach Hurt has four children and two grandchildren (Jonathan, Olivia, Connor, Hannah, Easton and Pasley). -
Competition Cheer Head Coach
Ally Mann
As the head coach for the Mooresville Pioneers competition cheer team, Ally Mann is embarking on an exciting journey in her first season. Prior to this role, she spent two successful years as the junior varsity sideline cheerleading coach, where her passion and dedication laid a strong foundation for her team. This season has already been remarkable, with the Pioneers consistently earning top 3 placements at every competition! A proud Mooresville High School alumni, Ally cheered for varsity football, basketball, and competition throughout all four years of high school. She was named a Mid-State All-Conference individual during her junior and senior years, and she proudly made history as the first cheerleader from MHS to be selected as an Indiana All-State Cheerleader. Continuing her journey, Ally pursued her academic and athletic career at IUPUI, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Today, she is a dedicated educator in Wayne Township. In her free time, Coach Ally loves to unwind with friends, family, and her dog, Willow. -
Sideline Cheer Head Coach
Holly Diggs
Holly is the Head Cheerleading Coach for Mooresville High School Sideline Cheer, proudly leading the program she once cheered for as a student-athlete. A lifelong Pioneer, Holly is an MHS alum who cheered all four years before continuing her cheer career at IUPUI and competing at the national level with Perfect 10. She began coaching in 2018 with Mooresville’s junior recreational league and joined the high school cheer program as an assistant coach in 2024. In 2025, Holly stepped into the head coaching role, where she brings her passion, energy, and community pride to every practice and game. In addition to coaching, Holly holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and works as a critical care nurse at a local hospital. She is married to her husband, Sean, and together they raise their three children -- Cali, Kamber, and Kylar -- in the same community that shaped her. Holly is committed to building culture in a strong, spirited program that not only supports athletics but also helps student-athletes grow as individuals, teammates, and future leaders in their community. -

Girls Cross Country Head Coach
Elizabeth Burke
Coach Betsy Burke is in her 4th season coaching cross country, and 2nd here at MHS. She previously coached both track & field and cross country in Columbus, IN. She was an assistant with the team last year and became the girls head coach for the 2024 season. Coach Burke has also been an assistant track coach for three years total and works primarily with the distance group. Coach Burke teaches Geography & History of the World, Geography & History of the World Honors, and Economics at MHS and loves helping students find success in a challenging subject. She married her husband this August, and they will be raising chickens this fall! Coach Burke is very excited to work with the group of student-athletes she will work with during the 2024-25 school year and she looks forward to continuing to helping them grow both as individuals and as athletes. -

Girls Golf Head Coach
Toby Hennessy
This will be Coach Hennessy’s 7th season leading the Girls Golf team. Coach Hennessy has also been on the Mooresville baseball staff for the last 9 years and is currently on the Baseball staff as a varsity assistant coach. Coach Hennessy has been married to his wife Brandy (a Mooresville alum) for 24 years. They have 3 children: Jaycee age 25, Koby age 23, and Judah age 19 (all Mooresville Graduates). Coach Hennessy is entering his 10th year teaching Math (mainly Geometry) at the High School. He graduated from Marian University in 1999 with a Sports Management degree, where he played on the Baseball team. He then went back to Marian and earned his Masters in Education in 2012. Coach Hennessy is very excited about this coaching opportunity and is eager to lead and continue to build the program rooted in integrity, togetherness, and growth. -
Boys Soccer Head Coach
Mike Smith
Coach Mike Smith is entering his ninth season coaching the boys’ soccer team. After stints at five different schools, he returns home where it all began some 27 years ago. Mike started coaching high school soccer with the JV team in 1996. After winning over 200 plus games, taking Zionsville to their first state championship game in school history, and winning back to back Marion County coaches of the year awards; he has returned home to complete his career and change the culture of Mooresville Soccer. Coach Smith also had the honor of coaching his alma mater, Marian University Men’s Soccer program, as the head coach for the program. Mike’s passion is unmatched and is determined to change the culture at Mooresville. Mike is entering his 26th year in education and is the assistant principal for both Northwood and Newby Elementary. His wife, Karen, is a 6th grade teacher at Plainfield Middle School and they live in Plainfield with their sons Hagan (15) and Hudson (7). Mike’s oldest son, Ian, works with teams in the MLS in marketing and video graphic design. He is looking to continue building this Mooresville Program for many years to come. -
Girls Soccer Head Coach
Chad Mitchell
Coach Chad Mitchell is entering his fifth year as the head coach for the girls soccer program. Coach Mitchell previously coached at the varsity level for South Adams High School in northeast Indiana for three years prior to his return to the area. Coach Mitchell is a 2001 graduate from Perry Meridian where he played soccer. He attended Indiana State University after high school. Coach Mitchell is married to MHS social studies teacher Mrs. Morgan Mitchell and is the proud father of two, Nora(8) and Nolan(6). When Mitchell isn’t roaming the sidelines enthusiastically, he is the owner of a local paint company. Coach Mitchell is truly passionate about coaching youth and passing on life lessons while using the world’s most beautiful game as the platform. -

Swim Head Coach
Jon Theriac
Coach Theriac is a retired military veteran andthe head coach of Mooresville’s women’s and men’s swimming and diving programs. In just a few years, he has elevated the Pioneers driving rapid growth, consistent championship performance, and a surge of new school records. Under Coach Theriac’s leadership, Mooresville athletes have achieved multiple top-tier finishes at both the Mid-State Conference and Sectional Championships. Across his tenure, more than twenty swimmers have earned top-eight placements at Conference, with multiple Mid-State Champions on both the girls and boys teams. The Pioneers have also produced several State qualifiers, with swimmers returning to finals at Sectionals at an exceptionally high rate. Record-breaking performances have become a hallmark of the program. The girls team has shattered more than ten school records—many of them multiple times—while the boys team has added five new program records with repeated improvements throughout the season. In total, Mooresville swimmers have broken over a dozen records nearly forty times under his direction, showcasing the team's relentless upward trajectory. Guided by the discipline, structure, and leadership principles shaped by his military career, Coach Theriac has built a culture defined by accountability, competitiveness, and pride. His commitment to technical development, team cohesion, and high standards continues to raise expectations for what Mooresville swimming can achieve. The Pioneers are not only rewriting the record books—they are establishing a foundation for long-term excellence in and out of the pool. -
Diving Head Coach
Corey Ervin
Coach Corey graduated from Bremen High School in 1996 where he was the most valuable diver four years consecutive, 2 time state finalist, and current school record holder. Coach Corey continued his diving career at Ball State University under the tutelage of Coach John Wingfield (2008 USA Olympic Coach and USA Diving Coach of the year). At BSU Corey received such honors as, 2-time most valuable diver of the year, 2-time All Conference (MAC) diver of the year, Outstanding Academic Award winner, and Senior National Qualifier status. After college in 2000, Coach Corey continued his training and started his coaching career with the Indianapolis Regional Training Center, alongside Coach Wingfield, in route to qualify for the Olympic Trials. Coach Corey worked on the National team with such athletes at Thomas Finchum (2008 Olympics-Silver) and David Boudia (2008 Olympics- Silver, 2012-Gold & bronze, 2016-Silver & Bronze). -
Tennis Head Coach
Mike Teders
Mike Teders is in his 25th season of coaching the boys tennis team and the 24th season for the girls tennis team. Coach Teders graduated from East Noble High School in 1987, where he played varsity tennis, swimming, and track. In tennis, Coach Teders played #1 and #2 doubles. Coach Teders is a 1991 graduate of Wabash College majoring in History. He received his MBA from Anderson University in 2000. Coach Teders works for Ceva Logistics in Plainfield, where he is an ERP Profes- sional in IT. Over the last 23 years, Coach Teders’ teams have won a combined total of 323 matches, 15 invitationals, one Mid-State conference title and two sectional titles. Coach Teders was named the Mid-State Girls Tennis Coach of the Year in 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2017. He was named the ICGSA District #3 Girls Tennis Coach of the Year in 2013, the IHSTECA District #5 Girls Tennis Coach of the Year in 2017 and was named the coach of the 2014 Indiana Girls South All-Star Tennis Team as well as coach of the 2018 Indiana Boys South All-Star Team. Mike enjoys living in Mooresville with his wife Kathy, a teacher at North Madison Elementary, and has two children Alex and Grace. -

Unified Sports Head Coach
Brandon Lewin
Brandon Lewin is in his 8th season coaching Unified Flag Football. Coach Lewin shares coaching responsibilities with Coach Taylor and Coach Ingle. Coach Lewin is married to his wife Emily of 13 years and has 3 wonderful children: Charlotte, Connor and Clark. Coach Lewin teaches Math at the High School for the past 9 years. The Unified Flag Football program has had highs and lows in six seasons, as we started the inaugural 2018 season of Unified Flag football winless. Then after much change and support we went undefeated and won the 2019 Unified Flag Football State Championship. We, as coaches, are very proud of the players for that achievement and the other accomplishments in the last few years. Last season we wanted to achieve more, however this year we have a great group of eager leaders. We are excited to compete again this year and continue representing Mooresville with excellence. -
Unified Sports Head Coach
Tina Taylor
Tina Taylor has been with Mooresville Schools for 21 years. She has been coaching Unified Track and Field for 12 and Unified Flag Football for 8. Coach Taylor has won a Track and Field Sectional and 5 Mid State Conference Championships as well as 2 Sectional Championships, a Regional Championship and a State Championship with Unified Flag Football. She also coaches Unified Bowling and organizes our Champions Together basketball game every year and started the Polar Plunge in 2023. Coach Taylor graduated from The University of Central Florida in 1993 with a degree in Travel and Tourism. She has been in Special Education at Mooresville since 2005. She's been married to her husband Tim for 28 years, has 3 children Mike, Taylor and Ben as well as 3 grandchildren, Sean, Fitz and Lottie.also coaches Unified Track and Field, Unified Bowling, Unified Bocce and Champions Together Basketball and Polar Plunge. Coach Taylor graduated from University of Central Florida in 1993 with a degree in Travel and Tourism. She has been with Mooresville Schools for 20 years in the Life Skills Class at MHS. She had been married to her husband Tim for 27 years and has 3 children, Mike, Taylor and Ben. Two grandsons Sean Patrick and John Fitzgerald. -

Wrestling Head Coach
Dan Mikesell
Coach Mikesell is entering his 8th season as head wrestling coach at Mooresville and his 21st as a head coach. During his first season, the Pioneers captured the Mid-State Conference championship and his peers voted him as both Mid-State and IHSAA Regional Coach of the Year. Thus far, as the head coach of the Pioneers he has guided three male wrestlers to the state finals and two of those earned All-State status with a 4th and 6th place. In the Girls inaugural season, the Pioneers sent four girls to the state finals and had two girls finish All-State. Last season the Lady Pioneers captured Mid-State Conference, Regional and Semi-State titles and sent six girls to the state finals with two girls finishing All-State. Mikesell was named IHSGW Southern Semi-State Coach of the year. Coach Mikesell also serves as the Team Leader for the Indiana National Freestyle and Greco teams and the Coaches Association Senior All-Star teams. He has a four-year record of 102-41 with the Pioneers and a career record of 302-122 over his 20 years as a head coach. He is married to his wife Laura and they enjoy spending time outdoors, skiing, fishing, and hunting as well as spending time with their four granddaughters Mattilea (6), identical twins Molly and Margo (4 )and McKinley (2). -
Sports Performance Coach
Jason Nunn
Jason Nunn is in his 3rd school year as a sports performance coach at Mooresville High School. Jason graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University in 2005 with a major in exercise science. In December of 2006 he finished his Master of Science degree from Indiana State University with a major in physical education with an emphasis in coaching and nutrition. During college, Jason became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Jason has over 20 years of experience in the field with stops at Indiana State University, Danville High School, Whiteland High School, and Chip Ganassi Race Teams. -
