Mooresville High School Athletic Department Pendill Wealth Management Athletes of the Week November 17th – November 22nd The Mooresville High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce the Pendill Wealth Management Athletes of the Week Award for the week of November 17th – November 22nd. The award will be given to one female and one male student-athletes who displayed athletic excellence in all areas of competition during the previous week of athletic contests. Pendill Wealth Management is proud to recognize student athletes for their athletic achievements each week while supporting the Mooresville Athletic Department. The Mooresville Athletic Department is honored to partner with BJ Pendill to recognize the Mooresville High School student athlete of the week. Athlete of the Week – Girls Swimming – Morgan Gainey, Junior This week’s Athlete of the Week is junior captain Morgan Gainey, who set the tone for the Lady Pioneers in their season opener with an exceptional all-around performance. Morgan posted the biggest time drop of the night, cutting more than nine seconds off her previous best in the 200 Individual Medley—a remarkable early-season improvement. She continued her strong outing by delivering a sub-minute 100 Freestyle, showcasing her speed and versatility in the pool. Morgan’s impact didn’t stop there; she also swam two crucial relay legs that helped anchor Mooresville’s momentum and keep the team competitive throughout the meet. Beyond her impressive times, Morgan’s leadership, energy, and sportsmanship were evident from start to finish. As one of this year’s captains, she leads by example and elevates those around her, making her one of the top standout athletes of the night and a driving force for the program. Athlete of the Week – Boys Wrestling – Kaidin Cooper, Senior This week’s Athlete of the Week is senior captain Kaidin Cooper, who delivered an exceptional performance at the Bedford Super Duals, finishing the day with a perfect 6–0 record. Kaidin opened his final high school season with authority, showcasing the dominance, composure, and competitiveness expected from a seasoned leader. Kaidin’s early success is no surprise—it's the result of a tremendous offseason marked by perfect attendance and a willingness to challenge himself by competing in demanding tournaments on his own. His dedication, discipline, and commitment to improvement have made him one of the most improved wrestlers in the program over the past three years. As a captain, Kaidin sets the standard for the Pioneers, leading with his work ethic, toughness, and example. The program is extremely proud of his growth, and there is great optimism for what lies ahead as he continues his senior campaign.
