The Mooresville varsity squad showed heart, resilience, and second-half firepower in a tight 66–61 contest against Perry Meridian. After falling behind early, the Pioneers rallied with a huge third and fourth quarter push, nearly completing a comeback that had the gym rocking until the final seconds. Perry Meridian jumped out to a 19–10 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 35–19 by halftime, but Mooresville refused to fold. The Pioneers exploded for 20 points in the third quarter and followed it with 22 more in the fourth, outscoring Perry Meridian 42–31 in the second half and putting real pressure on the Falcons down the stretch. Leading the way was Niah Craig, who delivered a dominant 27-point performance, attacking the lane with power and finishing with seven two-point baskets. Halle Moore added a strong complementary effort with 15 points, scoring six times inside and keeping Mooresville within striking distance. Millie Allison provided a balanced night with 7 points, hitting two shots inside and knocking down a three. K.J. Barton sparked momentum with 6 points, all coming from behind the arc with two big threes in key moments. Makenzie Holtzclaw added 5 points, connecting on one two-pointer and one three-pointer. At the line, Madisyn Phillips contributed a free throw, while Kenzie Garrett and Bri Addair continued to bring energy, communication, and positive leadership from the bench—an impact that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet but was felt throughout the game. Kendal Price also added defensive effort and ball movement to help facilitate the offense.
