Mooresville Showcases Complete Team Effort in 53–37 Win Over Greenwood

Mooresville delivered an impressive all-around performance Tuesday night, controlling the tempo from start to finish in a confident 53–37 varsity victory over Greenwood. With strong defense, balanced scoring, and composure at the free-throw line, the Pioneers made a clear statement on their home court. Mooresville came out focused and aggressive, jumping to a 12–6 lead after the first quarter. The Pioneers continued to build momentum in the second quarter, scoring 14 points and heading into halftime with a solid 26–17 advantage. Their defensive pressure limited Greenwood’s looks, while Mooresville’s offense remained efficient and patient. The third quarter proved to be a turning point as Mooresville surged on both ends of the floor. The Pioneers outscored Greenwood 14–6, stretching the lead and taking full control of the game. Even as Greenwood pushed back in the fourth quarter, Mooresville stayed composed, matching the intensity and closing the game strong with 13 points in the final frame. Halle Moore led the way with a game-high 16 points and was outstanding at the free-throw line, knocking down 8 of 10 attempts. K.J. Barton provided a major spark from beyond the arc, finishing with 10 points that included three three-point baskets. Kendal Price added eight points with consistent interior scoring, while Makenzie Holtzclaw contributed seven points and went 3-for-4 from the line. Millie Allison made the most of her opportunities, scoring five points and going a perfect 2-for-2 on free throws. Niah Craig added three points, and Madisyn Phillips and Kenzie Garrett each chipped in two points. Bri Addair’s contributions went beyond the stat sheet, providing energy and effort throughout the contest. With disciplined defense, efficient scoring, and contributions from across the roster, Mooresville turned in a polished performance and earned a well-deserved 53–37 victory.
