Mooresville put together a strong, determined effort and showed plenty of positives despite a 46–34 final score against Evansville North. The game was tightly contested for three quarters, highlighting Mooresville’s growth, balance, and fight from start to finish. The contest began on even footing, with both teams scoring seven points in the opening quarter. Mooresville continued to battle in the second period, adding 11 points and staying within striking distance at halftime. The Pioneers carried that momentum into the third quarter, scoring 12 points and keeping the game close heading into the final period. Offensively, Mooresville was led by Halle Moore, who finished with 12 points by consistently attacking inside and finishing strong. Niah Craig delivered an impressive all-around performance with 10 points, including tough finishes in the paint and trips to the free-throw line. K.J. Barton added six points, while Makenzie Holtzclaw chipped in five, knocking down a three-pointer and providing energy on both ends of the floor. Beyond the scoring column, Mooresville’s effort, defense, and teamwork stood out throughout the night. Every player contributed through hustle plays, ball movement, and defensive pressure, keeping the game competitive against a strong Evansville North team. While the final quarter favored Evansville North, Mooresville’s ability to compete for three full quarters reflects the team’s resilience and continued development. With consistent effort and execution, the Pioneers have plenty to build on as they move forward into the rest of the season.
