Mooresville Pioneers Rise Together with Records, All-American Performances, and Podium Finishes at Championship Meet The Mooresville Pioneers delivered a powerful and inspiring performance at the championship meet, finishing 5th overall with 242 points in a deep and highly competitive field. The meet was dominated by Franklin Community (503) and Plainfield (472), but Mooresville proved once again that it belongs among the area’s elite programs, stacking school records, meet records, All-American qualifying times, event wins, podium finishes, and major personal-best drops throughout the competition. Final Team Standings Franklin Community High School – 503 Plainfield High School – 472 Whiteland Community – 273 Greenwood Community High School – 248 Mooresville High School – 242 Perry Meridian High School – 160 Martinsville High School – 73 Decatur Central High School – 6 The meet had a strong opening with the 200-yard Medley Relay, where Danielle Gilman, Natallia Davis, Isabella Henson, and Annabelle Mong combined for a 5th place finish in 2:10.84. Entering the race seeded 3rd, the group delivered valuable points and set a competitive tone for the day. That momentum carried throughout the meet and culminated in record-breaking relay performances that highlighted Mooresville’s depth and team-first culture. Senior standout Lylah Theriac produced one of the most dominant individual championship performances in Mooresville history, but her success was emblematic of the team's collective preparation and belief. In the 200-yard Freestyle, Theriac entered as the top seed and delivered a jaw-dropping swim, winning the event in 1:48.93 by over 11 seconds. She dropped 3.97 seconds off her lifetime best, to obliterate the school record (1:51.37) and meet record (1:52.90) and achieving an All-American consideration time. Isabella Henson was able to drop another 3.75 seconds off of her 4 second drop from prelims to come in at 2:26.40 and place 12th. The 200-yard Individual Medley saw Morgan Gainey earn a 7th-place finish in 2:31.33, while Danielle Gilman placed 8th in 2:32.67, dropping an impressive 2.76 seconds off her lifetime best to secure another top 8 scoring swim for Mooresville. Reese Aker dropped 4.64 to come in at 3:14.16 rounding out the Pioneers points. Sprint contributions extended beyond the podium, as Natallia Davis dropped a personal best in the 50 Freestyle, and Aleah Marine fought through a fast heat to keep the team’s momentum moving forward. Mooresville also claimed gold outside the swim. In the 1-meter, 11-dive competition, Mackenzie Pierson delivered a championship-caliber performance, winning the event outright with a score of 397.45. Seeded 2nd coming in, Pierson rose to the moment and secured 1st place, providing a massive boost to the Pioneers’ overall point total. Theriac followed her 200-yard performance with another statement in the 100-yard Butterfly. Blazing in an astounding 53.38, Theriac dropped 0.70 seconds from her lifetime best, to set a new school record (54.08 set in 2025), as well as Breaking the meet record of (55.10 set in 2018) and qualified for All-American honors once again. Hensen had another massive drop (5.50 seconds) to come in at 1:15.20 placing 11th, while Annabelle Mong placed 15th with a 1:35.44. In the 100-yard Freestyle, Natallia Davis was able to snag 15th with a time of 1:06.23. In the 500-yard Freestyle, Gainey continued her strong meet with a 6th-place finish in 5:47.45, scoring key points against a stacked field. Reese Aker followed with a solid swim, placing 12th in 7:08.96. One of the most exciting races of the meet came in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay, where Lylah Theriac, Morgan Gainey, Aleah Marine, and Natallia Davis surged to a 3rd-place finish in 1:44.45, breaking the school relay record set in 2023. Theriac's blistering 23.20 lead off split broke the 50-yard Freestyle school record. The split qualified for All-American consideration. This relay performance underscored Mooresville’s growing sprint depth and championship poise. In the 100-yard Backstroke, Danielle Gilman posted a great swim, placing 6th overall in 1:08.60 after slicing 1.85 seconds off her lifetime best. Annabelle Mong also impressed with a 3.25-second personal best, finishing 12th with a time of 1:16.49, while Grace Perry gained valuable championship experience placing 16th with a time of 1:23.96. Aleah Marine swam a 1:25.51 in the 100-yard Breaststroke to place 12th, capturing the last of the individual points for Mooresville. Theriac's impact extended will beyond individual events. As the lead-off swimmer on the 400-yard Freestyle Relay, she helped guild Morgan Gainey, Danielle Gilman, and Aleah Marine to a 3rd place finish in 3:47.14, Breaking the school record and reinforcing Mooresville's strength. From multiple All-American qualifying performances, school and meet records, event wins, relay podium finishes, and significant time drops across all classes, the Mooresville Pioneers showcased a complete and resilient team performance.
