Mooresville and Indian Creek delivered a dramatic, edge-of-your-seat showdown that ended in unforgettable fashion, as Halle Moore sank a buzzer-beating shot to lift Mooresville to a thrilling 49–47 victory. The game was tightly contested from start to finish. Both teams opened strong, tied 13–13 after the first quarter. Indian Creek edged ahead in the second quarter, outscoring Mooresville 13–10 to take a slim halftime advantage. Neither team was willing to back down in the third quarter, with Indian Creek narrowly winning the period 10–9, setting the stage for a dramatic final frame. Mooresville came alive in the fourth quarter, pouring in 17 points to Indian Creek’s 11. The closing seconds were packed with tension as Indian Creek tied the game at 47–47. With time winding down, the ball found its way into the hands of Halle Moore. Showing confidence and composure, Moore rose for the final shot as the buzzer sounded, sinking the game-winner and sending the Mooresville bench and crowd into celebration. Moore finished with a game-high 23 points, leading all scorers. She was dominant inside with nine two-point baskets and steady at the free-throw line, hitting 5 of 7. K.J. Barton provided a key scoring boost with 12 points, including two three-pointers and a perfect 2-for-2 effort from the line. Makenzie Holtzclaw added 8 points, going 2-for-2 on free throws, while Madisyn Phillips contributed 6 points. Just as important to the win was the effort from the bench and role players. Esther Brimmage, Victoria Dahn, Millie Allison, Niah Craig, Kenzie Garrett, Bri Addair, and Kaydence Straneva may not have scored, but their impact was felt in other ways. Their defensive pressure, rebounding, communication, and energy off the bench helped maintain intensity throughout the game and allowed Mooresville’s scorers to thrive. The bench’s support and hustle proved vital in a contest decided by just two points. Indian Creek battled relentlessly, matching Mooresville’s intensity until the final second. In the end, however, it was Moore’s clutch buzzer-beater—combined with a complete team effort—that sealed one of the most memorable victories of the season for Mooresville.
