Mooresville Pulls Away Late to Defeat Cascade, 47–31

Mooresville put together a complete team performance Tuesday night, earning a 47–31 victory over Cascade through balanced scoring, steady defense, and contributions from every player on the roster. The Pioneers set the tone early with an 18–3 first-quarter run, showing energy on both ends of the floor. Cascade responded with determination in the second quarter, but Mooresville maintained its composure and carried momentum into halftime. Strong execution in the third quarter and consistent play down the stretch allowed Mooresville to finish strong and secure the win. Makenzie Holtzclaw led the scoring effort with 10 points, showcasing her versatility with a three-pointer, strong finishes inside, and a perfect performance at the free-throw line. K.J. Barton added eight points, including two three-pointers that helped stretch Cascade’s defense. Millie Allison also scored eight points, contributing inside and out while capitalizing on her opportunity at the free-throw line. Madisyn Phillips finished with seven points and provided steady offensive pressure throughout the game. Esther Brimmage added six points by finishing efficiently around the basket, while Niah Craig contributed six points and played aggressively, attacking the lane and drawing contact.
