The Lady Pioneers Girls JV Basketball team survived the three days out of school and were able to return to basketball to finally play their rescheduled game with the Cascade Lady Cadets. The two teams were supposed to play back in December but an early winter storm pushed the game back into January. Both teams were recently on e-Learning days and haven’t played since last Friday night (Cascade defeated Western Boone and Mooresville soundly defeated Plainfield). The Lady Cadets have recently moved into a new conference, the Monon Conference, and the change has helped the program have a good season with an 11-5 record. Last season, the JV game resulted with the Lady Pioneers defeating the Lady Cadets, 60-23. After the Lady Pioneers jumped out to a double digit lead over Lady Cadets by the end of the first half, the Lady Pioneers rotated their defensive schemes and substituted players in and out of the second half to get everyone considerable playing time in tonight’s last home game of the season. Frequent turnovers by the Lady Cadets near the halfcourt line prevented Cascade from developing any offensive rhythm against the aggressive Mooresville defense the whole night. The 52-27 victory for the Lady Pioneers improves the team's record to 12-6 (5-1 Mid-State) on the season. Leading the Pioneers in scoring was Victoria Dahn with 15 points. The Lady Cadets JV team will end their season on Friday as they host the Lady Mounties from Southmont. The Lady Pioneers JV team will have only one practice before they end their season this weekend with back to back games at Whiteland and Northview. The Whiteland game is part of a Boy/Girl doubleheader. The Varsity game will be at 6:00 p.m. and the JV game will be around 7:30 p.m. The JV game at Northview will start at 12:00 p.m. and the Varsity game will start around 1:30 p.m. Mooresville JV 10 13 18 11 52 Cascade JV 4 4 5 14 27
