Mooresville battled through all four quarters but came up short in a 63–54 loss to Whiteland on Friday night. The Pioneers got off to a solid start, taking a 15–7 lead at the end of the first quarter with strong defensive pressure and early scoring. Whiteland answered back in the second quarter, outscoring Mooresville 20–8 to take a 27–23 lead into halftime. Mooresville stayed competitive in the third quarter, but Whiteland continued to build momentum, winning the period 18–12. Despite a determined fourth-quarter push where Mooresville scored 19 points, Whiteland was able to match the effort and seal the win with an 18-point final quarter. Offensively, Mooresville was led by Millie Allison, who scored a team-high 14 points, including four three-point baskets and a perfect 2-for-2 performance from the free-throw line. Niah Craig followed with 11 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc. Makenzie Holtzclaw added 10 points with a balanced scoring effort that included a three-pointer and trips to the foul line. Additional contributions came from K.J. Barton with 8 points and Madisyn Phillips, who finished with 7 points and went a perfect 3-for-3 at the free-throw line. Esther Brimmage chipped in 3 points, while Kenzie Garrett added 1 point from the line. Although the final score favored Whiteland, Mooresville showed resilience and depth throughout the game and will look to build on the positives as the season continues.
