Mooresville continued to battle and develop as a team despite a 65–31 loss to Northview in a four-quarter contest. The score reflected Northview’s depth and consistency, but Mooresville showed resilience, effort, and individual highlights throughout the game. Northview opened strong in the first half, building an early lead with 20 points in both the first and second quarters. Mooresville never backed down, continuing to compete on both ends of the floor and adjusting as the game went on. The third quarter saw Mooresville tighten up defensively and keep pace more effectively, holding Northview to 12 points while adding 8 of their own. The team closed the game with another solid effort in the fourth quarter, scoring 7 points and maintaining energy until the final buzzer. Offensively, K.J. Barton led Mooresville with 11 points, showcasing her shooting touch from beyond the arc with three three-pointers. Makenzie Holtzclaw followed with 8 points, including two three-point baskets that helped spark the offense. Niah Craig contributed 5 points and was perfect from the free-throw line, going 2-for-2 in clutch moments. Additional scoring came from Madisyn Phillips and Millie Allison, who each added 2 points, while Esther Brimmage chipped in a free throw. Though some players did not score, Victoria Dahn, Kenzie Garrett, Bri Addair, and Kaydence Straneva made important contributions through defense, hustle plays, and teamwork that don’t always show up in the stat sheet. Mooresville’s effort, improved execution in the second half, and balanced contributions reflect a team continuing to grow. With continued focus and development, these experiences will serve as valuable building blocks as the season moves forward.
