Pioneers Struggle To Score At Seymour

By Nate Bingham | Feb 7, 2026 3:40 PM

The Pioneers traveled to Seymour Saturday to take on the Owls. Seymour was able to jump out to a seven point lead in the opening frame by working the ball for open shots on the offensive end and physical play on the defensive end. The Pioneers battled in the second quarter but the Owls had an answer once the lead was cut to a two possession game. Seymour was able to take a nine point lead into the break. Mooresville came out of the break playing intense defense and it allowed to the Pioneers to get out in transition for easy offense. Seymour was able to convert on a back breaking and one basket right at the end of the third quarter which gave them a seven point lead into the fourth. The Pioneers continued to battle in the fourth but were able to put it all together to make a comeback. The Pioneers will hit the road again on Tuesday as they will travel to Columbus East.
