2026 Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Home Opener Final Score Mooresville Pioneers- 21 Martinsville Artesians- 0 The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball team opened the home portion of the 2026 season on Tuesday evening with a 21-0 win (5 innings) over the visiting Martinsville Artesians. Senior Hudson DeVaughan got the start on the mound for the Pioneers, earning his first win of the 2026 season. DeVaughan threw 4 innings of shut out baseball, finishing the outing with 11 strikeouts with no hits allowed (4 innings, 0 hits, 0 walks, 0 runs, 11 strikeouts). Senior left hander Jared Kempf relieved DeVaughan in the 5th inning, Kempf added 3 strikeouts, walked one, and did not allow a hit or run to close out the Pioneers 21-0 win. Senior Tyler Denny got the Mooresville Pioneers offense started in the bottom of the first inning with a lead off solo home run on the first pitch of his at bat. Mooresville scored 5 runs in the bottom half of the first inning to take an early 5-0 lead, added 4 in the second, 10 in the third, and 2 in the fourth to secure the Pioneers first win of the 2026 season. The Mooresville Pioneers will be back in action Wednesday April 8, 2026 and will travel to Martinsville, first pitch scheduled for 6:00pm.
