Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Wednesday Final Mooresville Pioneers- 13 Martinsville Artesians- 1 The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball team improved to 2-0 (2-0 MSC) with a 13-1 road win at Martinsville on Wednesday evening. Freshman Levi Welty made his Varsity debut on the mound for the Pioneers and captured his first career win for the Pioneers. Welty threw 4 complete innings, allowed 1 hit, 1 earned run, walked 3, and struck out 7 Artesians. Senior Kiernan Herald relieved Welty in the 5th inning and closed out the 5-inning win for Mooresville. Hearld did not allow a hit, walk, or run, and struck out 2 in his one inning of work. Offensively, the Pioneers were led by Senior Archer Query, who was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. SeniorsAdam Biddle, Nate Daley, Connor Cruz, and Grant Martin collected two hits apiece as the Pioneers finished the game with 13 runs on 15 hits. The Pioneers will wrap up week one of the 2026 season on Thursday, April 9th, as the Cascade Cadets visit Mooresville, first pitch scheduled for 5:30pm.
