Thursday Night Final Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Mooresville Pioneers- 8 Cascade Cadets- 2 The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball team wrapped up week one of the regular season with an 8-2 home win over the Cascade Cadets on Thursday night. Junior right hander Kooper Schmitt got the start on the mound for the Pioneers, Schmitt threw four complete innings allowing three hits, one earned run, walked one, and struck out eight Cascade hitters to record his first win of the season. Senior Kiernan Herald releived Schmitt in the fifth inning, Herald threw three innings, allowed five hits, one earned run, walked one, and struck out two to seal the Pioneers third consecutive win. The Pioneers offense collected eight hits, highligted by sophomore Brody McGaha who hit his first High School home run, a solo shot to right field to put Mooresville up 4-1. Koopers Schmitt not only got the win on the mound but also hit his first home run of the season, a two run blast to left field. Adam Biddle (2), Tyler Denny (1), Nate Daley (1), and Archer Query also collected base hits in the Pioneers win. The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball team will be back in action Tuesday April 14, 2026 as they host the Decatur Central Hawks in game one of their two game Mid State Conference series, first pitch 6pm.
