Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Tuesday Mid State Conference Final Mooresville Pioneers- 2 Decatur Central Hawks- 0 The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball team improve to 4-0 on the 2026 season with a 2-0 home win over Decatur Central, with the win the Pioneers improve to 3-0 in the Mid State Conference. Tuesday nights game was scoreless through five and a half innings before the Pioneers plated two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 2 run lead into the top of the seventh. Tyler Denny hit a ground rule double in the bottom half of the sixth inning with one out to get things started for Mooresville. Brody McGaha reached on a bunt scoring Denny from first base on a three base throwing error to put the Pioneers up 1-0. Archer Query walked with bases loaded scoring Brody McGaha to provide the Pioneers a 2-0 lead though six innings. The two run lead was enough for starting pitcher Hudson DeVaughan who managed to close out the Hawks in the top half of the seventh securing Mooresville's fourth win of the season. DeVaughan threw his first complete game of 2026 while allowing 2 hits, walked 1, 1 HBP, and struck out 17 to record his second win. The Mooresville Pioneers will be back in action Wednesday April 15, 2026 as they travel to Decatur Central, first pitch scheduled for 6:00pm. The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball team would like to thank the parents, families, students, and fans along with the Mooresville High School Administration for the support during Tuesdays win.
