Pioneers Fall to Perry Meridian in Mid-State Conference Match

The Mooresville High School girls tennis team hosted Perry Meridian this afternoon in a Mid-State Conference matchup. The Falcons came away with a 4-1 win at the varsity level and an 11-0 victory in JV play. Mooresville’s lone varsity win came at #1 singles, where Lyla Kaufman battled to a three-set victory, closing out the final set 6-4. With the loss, the Pioneers’ varsity record fell to 7-2 overall and 2-1 in Mid-State Conference play. The JV record moved to 3-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference matches. The Pioneers return to action tomorrow when they travel to Southport for a non-conference matchup. Play is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
