Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Wednesday Night Final Mooresville Pioneers- 4 Perry Meridian Falcons- 5 The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball team traveled to Perry Meridian on Wednesday for game two of their Mid State Conference two game series. The Pioneers found themselves down 3-0 after the second inning. Mooresville took the lead 4-3 in the top of the seventh but were unable to hold on, losing 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh. With the loss, the Pioneers are currently 6-1 and 5-1 in the Mid State Conference. Kooper Schmitt got the start on the mound for Mooresville, Schmitt went 6.2 innings allowing 6 hits, 3 earned runs (5 Total), walked 2, and struck out 9. The Pioneers offense was held scoreless for the first three innings and broke through in the fourth scoring 1 run to cut the Falcons lead to 2, 3-1. Mooresville added 2 in the sixth and 1 in the seventh but it would not be enough in their first loss of the 2026 season. The offense was lead by Tyler Denny who went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Adam Biddle, Nate Daley, Kooper Schmitt, and Connor Cruz each had hits in the loss. The Mooresville Pioneers will be back in action Thursday April 23, 2026 and will travel to Southport (Holder Field) to take on the Cardinals.
