Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Friday Night Final Mooresville Pioneers- 10 University High School- 6 After two consecutive Mid State Conference loses on Tuesday and Wednesday to Franklin Community the Pioneers were able to close out the week with a 10-6 win over University High School on Friday night. With the win on Friday night the Mooresville Pioneers improve to 9-4 on the season and are 5-3 in the Mid State Conference. Senior LHP Jared Kempf got his first start of the season on the mound for the Pioneers. Kempf threw 4 innings, allowed 7 hits, 4 earned runs, walked 3, and struck out 1 to collect his first win of the 2026 season. Kiernan Herald releived Kempf in the fifth inning, Herald went 3 innings allowing 2 hits, 2 earned runs, walked 2, and struck out 2 to close out the 10-6 win. The Pioneers offense collected 10 hits in the win. Senior second basemmen Archer Query lead the way with two extra base hits (double/triple) and 4 RBI. Tyler Denny had 2 hits (single/triple), while Adam Biddle and Kooper Schmitt added a double apiece. The Mooresville Pioneers will be back in action on Monday May 4th and will travel to Cathedral to take on the on the Irish at 6:00pm.
