Mooresville Pioneers Baseball Monday Night Varsity Final Mooresville Pioneers- 9 Cathedral Irish- 2 The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball team improved to 10-4 (5-3 MSC) with a 9-2 road win over the Cathedral Irish on Monday night. Freshman RHP Levi Welty got his second start of the season on the mound for Mooresville and collected his first win as a Varsity pitcher. Welty threw a complete game allowing 8 hits, 2 earned runs, no walks, and struck out 8 Irish hitters in route to the win. The Pioneers offense plated 9 runs on 13 hits lead lead by Connor Cruz and Kooper Schmitt with three hits a piece. Cruz and Schmitt were a combined 6 for 8, collected 6 RBI, and scored 2 runs in the win. The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball team will be back in action on Tuesday May 5th and will host the Greenwood Woodmen out of the Mid State Conference, first pitch scheduled for 6pm.
