Pioneers Fall in Tight Match at Covenant Christian

The Mooresville girls tennis team traveled to Covenant Christian High School for a non-conference matchup, where the varsity dropped a tight 4-1 battle and the JV fell 8-1. In varsity action, Lyla Kaufman picked up the lone win for the Pioneers at #1 singles, earning a 6-1, 6-4 victory. For the JV, ReAnna Scurry and Zoe Saner continued their recent strong play with a 6-2 win at #1 JV doubles. With the loss, the varsity fell to 8-6 overall, while the JV moved to 4-7-1. The Pioneers are right back in action tomorrow night when they host Greenwood in a Mid-State Conference matchup. The match is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Mooresville will also celebrate Teacher Appreciation Night, with introductions beginning at 5:15 p.m. In an exciting scheduling twist, Paul Hadley Middle School will also be playing at home, giving fans the opportunity to watch the present and future of Mooresville tennis side by side on the MHS courts.
