Kaufman Wins at No. 1 Singles as Pioneers Battle Heritage Christian

The MHS Girls Tennis Team hosted Heritage Christian for an early Saturday morning match. The Pioneers battled hard at every position but ultimately came up short, with the varsity falling 4-1 and the JV losing 6-1. For the varsity, Lyla Kaufman earned the lone victory at #1 singles with a strong 6-4, 6-1 win. In JV action, Brooke Mitchell and Brooklyn Rawlins teamed up for the Pioneers’ only win with an 8-6 victory. With the loss, the varsity record moved to 8-8 overall on the season, while the JV record fell to 4-9-1. The MHS tennis team returns to action on Tuesday, May 12, when the Pioneers host Greencastle at 5:30 p.m. The match is a reschedule from April 28.
