By Mike Teders | May 13, 2026 10:24 PM

The Mooresville High School girls tennis team traveled to Plainfield this afternoon for its final dual match of the regular season. The Quakers came away with a 5-0 varsity victory and a 6-0 win at the JV level. The Pioneers’ lone varsity victory came at #1 singles, where Lyla Kaufman battled through a hard-fought three-set match to earn a 6-7, 6-1, 10-7 victory. Kaufman showed tremendous determination and composure throughout the match, continuing her strong season with another impressive performance. The varsity team closes the regular season with an overall record of 8-10 and a 2-5 mark in Mid-State Conference play. The JV squad finished the dual-match season at 4-11-1 overall and 1-5-1 in conference action. With the regular season complete, the Pioneers varsity team will now turn its attention toward postseason play and several days of valuable preparation leading into the IHSAA Sectional Tournament. Sectional action is scheduled to begin Wednesday, May 20, at Greencastle. The JV team will conclude its season on Saturday, May 16, when it travels to Whiteland to compete in the Whiteland JV Invitational. Play is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at Clark Pleasant Middle School. The Mooresville tennis program would also like to thank all of its supporters for another memorable regular season. The players and coaches greatly appreciate the encouragement and dedication shown by the fans, parents, friends, and school community throughout the year.
