Mooresville Athletics

It was a very rainy week in Indiana, because of all that rain 13 girls high school golf teams from Indiana battled a soggy Rae Park in Terre Haute in the Braves Invitational. After all the scores were counted Mooresville finished just 1 shot out of the top spot. Their 370, good enough for 2nd place, fell 1 shot short of the 369 the Washington Hatchets shot to take home the tournament title and the trophy. Bedford North Lawrence shot a 372 to finished 3rd in a very tight battle for the top spots. Host school Terre Haute South finished 4th with a 396, and Castle rounded out the top 5 with a 417. For the Lady Pioneers, senior Julianna Bell continued her solid start to the season with an 86 today to finish 4th overall individually out of the 84 golfers today. Junior Emily West helped the Pioneer scoring with a 94, Junior Elizabeth Tiley and Sophomore Karleigh Reese shot matching 95's to score for Mooresville as well. Senior Bri Addair shot an even 100 on the day, and Sophomore Kallie Arthur finished with a 109. Mooresville is back in action Wednesday Aug. 19th at Deer Creek golf course where they will take on mid-state rivals Plainfield and Whiteland.
