Mooresville Pioneers Football Week One Freshman Final Mooresville- 10 Columbus East- 8 The Mooresville Pioneers Freshman football team opened week one of the 2026 regular season with a 10-8 road win over the Columbus East Olympians. After three scoreless quarters, the Pioneers would take the lead early in the fourth quarter as Koen Bechtold hit Reis Samuels from 30 yards out (PAT- Kenneth Meyer) to go up 7-0 . Columbus East answered with a touchdown of their own, the Olympians went for the two point conversion and were successful to take a one point lead, 8-7. Mooresville proceeded to go on a 70 plus yard drive capped off by a 22 yard Kenneth Meyer field goal, Meyers field goal proved to be the three points the Pioneers needed to seal the win, 10-8. The Pioneers will be back in action Saturday August 29th as they host the Chatard Trojans, kickoff scheduled for 9am.
