As the girl's golf season reaches the last few weeks of regular season play, teams start to think about the postseason tournaments starting in a couple weeks. Battleground golf course in Lafayette regularly hosts 1 of the 3 northern regionals. Because of that, this weekend's invitational has become one of the most competitive invitationals each season. Today was no different as 8 of the top 20 teams in the state and 12 other teams thinking about advancing as a team or having individuals make it out of the sectional round converged on Battleground to get a look at the regional course. After all 18 holes had been played the top team in the state, Zionsville, took home the title with an incredible 292. Westfield finished 2nd with a 294, a score that would have won 99% of invitationals played in. Carmel (313), Brownsburg (316) and Hamilton Southeastern (318) rounded out the top 5. The Mooresville Lady Pioneers battled hard and finished with a very respectable 371 good enough for 11th out of the 20 teams participating. Emily West shot her personal best 90, to lead the Mooresville today. Julianna Bell and Elizabeth Tiley shot matching 93's, Bri Addair shot a 95, and Kallie Arthur shot a 104 to round out the Pioneer scoring. Mooresville will be back in action Thursday as the host Avon at Heartland Crossing starting at 4:30
