Pioneers Battle Hard Against Terre Haute North

The MHS Boys Tennis Team hosted Terre Haute North this afternoon for a non-conference matchup at the MHS courts. Terre Haute North came out on top in the varsity match, 4-1, and also earned a 5-0 victory at the JV level. For the Pioneers varsity, Sam Mommertz turned in an outstanding performance at #1 singles, earning Mooresville’s lone victory with a straight-set win. The rest of the varsity lineup competed hard and brought great energy to the courts, but came up just short in each of their matches. Despite a busy week filled with matches and another hot afternoon on the courts, the entire team continued to battle from start to finish. The Pioneers showed tremendous effort and enthusiasm throughout the match and represented Mooresville well. The tennis team will wrap up its busy week on Saturday when the Pioneers travel to Southern Indiana to compete in the Providence Invitational. Mooresville will take on Barr-Reeve at 11 a.m. before facing host Providence at 1 p.m.
